New 2018 Skoda Fabia

In 2018, the Czech automobile company will present a new subcompact crossover that will be produced at the Skoda Fabia base. The reason for its appearance is the lack of subcompact crossovers in the model range of the manufacturer.

The base of the SUV was the well-known Fabia, which has been produced since the 90s of the last century on the same platform as the VW Polo. Advantages of the car:

• large selection of engines;
• the characteristic appearance recognizable by everyone;
• high level of reliability;
• spacious lounge for this class;
• high ground clearance;
• good handling.

Entering the SUV market will allow the company to enter the growing sales segment, which means to increase the demand for their cars by offering customers what they want.

SUV Exterior

In front, the car will look according to the corporate identity of the Czech company. This can be emphasized by a wide radiator grille with double horizontal inserts and a chrome trim, a relief bumper with a central air intake, as well as rectangular “foglights” of a rectangular shape.

Since this car will belong to a number of crossovers, it has a special design on the front bumper, which creates the appearance of additional protection of light color. Headlights have an angular shape, which creates a pleasant appearance in combination with the lines of the grille.

The profile of the car received a stamping in the form of straight lines that add solidity to it, in addition, the car is equipped with a dark body kit throughout the body. Large circular wheel arches emphasize the original rims and wheels.

At the rear, the car received a voluminous trunk lid, taillights that have the shape of a rhombus, a dark bumper with light accents, which has an integrated dual exhaust pipe. A strict style is supported by a special spoiler with a brake light, which is located above the trunk lid.

Subcompact Crossover Interior

The interior of the car can be characterized in two words - neatly and restraintly. In general, the interior of the updated model resembles the performance of VW Polo. The ergonomics of the car remains on a high car, and all the shelves and stands occupy optimal positions. The central panel is equipped with a color monitor, deflectors for controlling the climate system can be seen on the side, and immediately under the screen there are keys for regulating various car systems.

The steering wheel is made in a three-spoke version, and the dashboard is well hidden under a special visor and has built-in tachometer and speedometer scales. In addition, between the scales there is a small information screen on-board computer. For interior trim used:

• soft plastic;
• fabric gray shades;
• edging materials.

The front row of seats is equipped with many different adjustments and settings for maximum comfort for the driver and his passenger, in addition, the car is equipped with comfortable head restraints. The second row of seats, as before, is designed for the convenient location of only two people.

Trunk volume - 335 liters, if the rear row of seats is folded, the useful luggage volume will increase and will be 1155 liters.

Specifications

The updated 2018-2019 Skoda Fabia is equipped only with front-wheel drive. The all-wheel drive version is not planned even as an option. Initially, the crossover will be available with the following power units:

• 1.2 liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 110 horsepower;
• diesel, 1.2 liters with a capacity of 105 "horses".

The basic version of the car will be equipped with a 5-speed manual, as an option you can afford a 7-band robot.

Cost

The start of car production is scheduled for May 2018.It is still unknown whether the novelty will be sold on the territory of the Russian Federation, it will be possible to find out immediately before the start of crossover deliveries to official dealerships.

According to automotive experts, it will be possible to buy a new Skoda Fabia for 12.5 thousand euros in the basic version. Naturally, with additional options, the cost will be more.
