Updated 2018 Mitsubishi Lancer

This car is a passenger model manufactured since 1973. The tenth generation of the well-known car, which entered the global automotive market back in 2007, is now relevant.

In general, the car has been produced for almost 45 years, but does not lose its popularity among motorists, and here's why:

• the model has a high level of reliability;
• the suspension has a high-quality performance;
• the body is galvanized, which guarantees a long service life of the vehicle;
• inside the cabin there is a lot of space for the driver and his passengers;
• engines are able to run on low-quality fuel.

The car has not received changes for 10 years, the version that will be born next year, 2018 will also not be a new generation. According to the manufacturers, this is an updated version of the sedan loved by everyone. Initially, the car will be sold in Taiwan and China.

Exterior

Judging by the photographs presented to the companies, the appearance of the car will receive a number of significant changes. The front bumper is completely new, has a multi-level design. At the bottom of the bumper is a fine-mesh air intake grill that has the shape of a trapezoid. On the sides settled "fog", and all the elements of the bumper got a chrome finish.

The radiator grill has become very narrow, and it is decorated with four horizontal stripes made of chrome. At the bottom of the grille is connected to the bumper together. The front optics received a beveled-angular shape, which generally creates a sporty and forward-looking look. The logo has increased in size and is located on the lining.

On the side, Lancer got interesting stamping lines in shape that smoothly transition from the rear of the car to the wheel arches in front. The wheel arches themselves are convex and have a rounded shape. The roof of the car is smooth, however, starting from the middle, it goes sharply down to the stern.

At the rear, the car also received a multi-level form, where the original trapezoidal stamping should immediately be noted, which goes from the trunk door to the muscular bumper. The rear bumper received a longitudinal chrome line, above which you can find rectangular headlights, and below it another additional brake light, which is very unusual.

Interior

Inside, the car received significantly fewer changes, but they should not close their eyes. The new multifunction steering wheel received a three-spoke design, and the center console received an 8-inch screen for controlling multimedia systems. On the sides of the monitor you can find the deflectors of the climate system, and immediately below it there are keys and various switches to control the functions of the car.

The dashboard remains the same and contains two round instruments with scales, as well as the on-board computer screen. In addition, it is worth noting that inside the cabin there is also much more chrome, almost all interior elements have received a special edging.

The new front seats of the driver and his side passenger have become anatomical, the second row of seats has also slightly changed. Changes in the rear seats, unfortunately, could not affect the comfort in any way, so the location of three people there remains all the same uncomfortable.

In order to increase comfort inside the car while driving, the developers worked on sound insulation and significantly improved it. In order to achieve this, they used sound absorbing panels and motor elements. They also worked on the wheel arches and the noise penetrating from the trunk and other places.

Specifications

To complete the car, two gasoline engines will be used, which have the following parameters:

• the volume of 1.8 liters with a capacity of 148 "horses";
• two-liter power unit with a capacity of 169 horsepower.

For the front-wheel drive car, the main option will be a variator, however, with a Lancer engine of 1.8 liters, a 5-speed manual gearbox can be used.

It is worth noting that rain, light and parking sensors will be only an additional option. In addition, you will also have to pay extra for LED lighting and keyless access, however, whether this is necessary or not, each one individually decides.

In total, 4 vehicle configurations will be presented on the market that can satisfy the client depending on his personal needs.

Start of sales and cost of Lancer 2018

The updated version of the sedan is designed for Asian markets, so initially the 2018 Mitsubishi Lancer sales will be held in Taiwan, then China. The start of sales is planned for the fall of 2017, while the cost of the basic configuration will be about 1.3 million rubles.

If the client wants to get a number of additional options and chooses the maximum version for himself, then you will have to pay more than 800 thousand Taiwan dollars for it, which, by our standards, is just over one and a half million rubles. In general, the concern stated that deliveries to domestic and European markets are not planned in the near future, which means it is not known whether this car will be in Russia at all.
