The pilot is a medium-sized 7 and 8-seater crossover, which was born in 2002. The car from the Honda concern is one of the largest in its class among the company's lineup. The third generation of the sensational jeep appeared in 2016.

SUV Exterior

In the appearance of the car, its main transition lines have changed, the smoothness of which increases the aerodynamic qualities of the novelty. Harmonious and proportional body shapes significantly distinguish the new product from the previous gross and brutal generation, but at the same time the Pilot retained its power and confidence.

In front, the car received a new radiator grill, equipped with three horizontal bars, as well as a muscular X-shaped bumper with reduced air intakes, as well as integrated “foglights”. Headlights got sharp angles, and the running lights are made in a C-like shape.

In profile, the car got a more solid look due to the large convex wheel arches, as well as the dark body of the side rear-view mirrors. The side mirrors received chrome trim, and the doors got huge stamping lines.

At the rear, the car got a slightly smaller and neater bumper, under which additional brake lights are installed. Due to the small bumper, the developers increased the glass, above which there is a visor with an integrated stop signal. The taillights received an L-shape and significantly increased dimensions, now they are located on the trunk and body wings.

In general, all changes in the exterior were aimed at transforming the SUV into a more dynamic car, however, the concern retained the classic power of the crossover.

Interior

From the photographs, it is noticeable that the internal performance of the car received a number of significant changes aimed at creating a stylish and bright design. The instrument panel is completely new, the semicircular dials have found a mixed combination, and a special visor covers them. The speedometer will be made in the form of a digital screen, and next to it immediately is the on-board computer monitor.

The console received a large 8-inch screen of the multimedia complex, on the sides of which you can notice the deflectors of the climate system, which received an aluminum edging. Right below the screen, you will notice keys and buttons to control the climate control and other functions of the car.

The front row of seats received many different settings and adjustments in order to make the trip as comfortable as possible, in addition to this, the seats are equipped with ventilation and heating. For interior trim used: leather, soft plastic, expensive fabric, aluminum and wood.

The trunk of a 5-seater SUV has a volume of 600 liters, but if you fold the second row of seats, you get a horizontal floor, and the useful volume of the luggage compartment increases to 3050 liters.

The large-size SUV will be equipped with two gasoline power units with the following parameters:

• 3-liter ICE with a capacity of 249 horsepower;
• 3.5-liter engine, the power of which is 280 "horses".

Transmission: 6 and 9-speed automatic, it is worth noting that the 9-band automatic will be available only in conjunction with a more powerful power unit. The basic equipment will be equipped with all-wheel drive, and the transmission will have three modes: standard, comfort, sport. Front-wheel drive in this model is an option.

Start of sales and cost

The production of a 5-seater 2018 SUV will be carried out on the sites of North America. For this reason, sales in the United States will start in September. Basic equipment will cost the buyer 26.5 thousand dollars.

In the Russian Federation, the car will appear no earlier than 2018, most likely in January. The basic equipment of the new Honda Pilot will cost 2 million 750 thousand rubles, and the maximum version costs more than 3.7 million rubles.
