2018 Lexus NX review

NX was first introduced in 2014. The car is a compact crossover manufactured by Lexus, which specializes in the production of premium cars of Toyota concern. The SUV is designed on the RAV4 platform, is a 5-seater model with all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive and is an urban vehicle.

2018 Lexus NX Exterior

The car first appeared on the market in 2014, and not much time passed, but the company decided to take decisive steps to change the exterior of the SUV. All the changes and design decisions made the car recognizable and significantly different from its predecessor. Special changes were achieved in the design of the front bumper with its interesting and original radiator grille, which received a large Lexus logo.

The radiator grill has an X-shape and large dimensions, it combines well with the front air intakes, which have been significantly increased. Immediately beneath them were foglights, and the main optics received a more aggressive appearance and a new shape. The headlights received three LED emitters, under which are integrated L-shaped neon running lights.

The elegant profile of the SUV received smooth lines of transition from the hood to the roof, and from it to the stern of the car. The wheel arches received a massive performance, the side rear-view mirrors have improved aerodynamics, and the wheels received the original 18-inch wheels.

Behind the car also received a number of significant modifications. First of all, this concerns the rear bumper updated in its shape, which received trapezoidal exhaust diffusers with a light trim. The relief of the tailgate stands out with sharp edges and sharp shapes. The taillights are located on the tailgate and rear wings, and they are made in a narrow form with LED lighting. The final element of the updated design was the rear spoiler with an integrated additional brake light.

Crossover interior

Inside, the car received significantly fewer changes, but all of them are aimed at improving the ergonomics of the Japanese urban SUV. All the materials that were used for the trim still remain at the highest level, and their fit is almost perfect.

The main change that immediately becomes noticeable is the installation of a new 10-inch touch screen, instead of the 7-inch that was installed on the last series of crossover. In addition, the new monitor is installed at a height convenient for the driver’s eyes and it is a pleasure to operate it. Almost all the elements, buttons and control keys received a metal border in a light color.

The front row of seats has an electric adjustment and eight main directions, which will make you feel comfortable even with a long journey. The second row of seats can be folded in the proportion of 3/2 thanks to the integrated electric drive. In addition, the back row has a separate climate control unit, which creates an additional feeling of coziness and comfort.The analog clock received a fundamentally new design, and the decoration of some elements was changed to a higher quality one.

Technical specifications

The power unit has remained unchanged and is a two-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with a power of 238 horsepower. The transmission also remained unchanged - a 6-band automatic transmission.

The start of sales of the 2018 crossover is scheduled for September 2017. According to sources and experts, the starting price for the basic configuration will increase and stop at around 35-36 thousand dollars.

In the Russian Federation, a novelty should be expected closer to the new year, while the cost of the SUV will start from 2.4 million rubles for the standard version of 2018-2019 Lexus NX.
