Review of the new 2018 Audi S4

A series of the German concern S represents sports modifications of A type models. The new 2018 Audi S4 is no exception and is a more powerful version of the A4 model. Both versions of the car are assembled and manufactured by Audi AG. The first sports version appeared back in 1991.

A number of differences between the sports version and the base:

• all-wheel drive only;
• ground clearance is slightly less;
• power units are more powerful;
• rear differential is always active;

Despite a number of small changes in the car, he managed to maintain the positive qualities inherent in the German brand:

The last, fifth generation of the sedan has been produced and sold on the market since 2015. Given the current trends and requirements for constant updates, the concern announced that it was ready to present the world a new version of the 2018 sports sedan.

Exterior Audi S4 2018

The first show of the new version of the car was held in Frankfurt, thanks to which experts were immediately able to note a number of modifications in the exterior of the sports sedan. Now he has become more aggressive and dynamic in his appearance. This was achieved thanks to such decisions of designers:

• original geometrically sophisticated main optics integrated into the front bumper;
• running lights received an L-shape and act as a fringing of the main optics;
• the radiator grill has become a little larger, received the original trapezoidal shape and 7 horizontal chrome lines;
• large side air intakes on the front bumper;
• front struts received an increased angle of inclination;
• rear racks have become significantly expanded;
• side rear-view mirrors got a silver color and a special aerodynamic shape, integrated turn indicators;
• new 19-inch wheels.

At the rear, the car is characterized by an updated form of the taillights, which smoothly pass from the trunk door to the wings. The stop signal strip has got a narrower shape and is located on the rear bumper. The exhaust pipe diffusers have been enlarged. In general, all the modifications made are aimed at emphasizing the external originality and uniqueness of the car, making it recognizable on city streets.

2018 interior sedan

All the modifications made in the inner world of the car are also aimed at giving it a more dynamic and sporty look. First of all, it should be noted updated sports seats with high-quality lateral support for the driver and his passenger. Finishing and upholstery are made only of expensive and high-quality materials; suede and leather predominate in the cabin.

The dashboard has received a digital design and a huge screen on which all the information the driver needs is displayed so that it is possible to conveniently control the car during its movement. All this can be seen only in the maximum configuration of the car, the basic one will be simplified and receive a standard instrument panel of a modified type.

The trim is distinguished by polished aluminum, glued veneer, expensive leather and quality fabric. The center console received small carbon lines and inserts. The steering wheel received a three-spoke multifunctional design, the lower part of which is slightly cut and has an insert of light aluminum.

Dimensions of the updated sedan:

• length - 4720 mm;
• width - 1830 mm;
• height - 1410 mm;
• ground clearance - 119 mm (-23 compared with the previous generation).

Technical specifications

The updated 2018-2019 Audi S4 model received a gasoline power unit, the volume of which amounted to 3 liters. The new engine received a turbocharger and now its capacity is 355 horsepower.A special 8-speed automatic transmission - Tiptromic is provided for it.

In total, the concern has provided two configurations - Premium Plus and Prestige, the main difference is in additional security systems.

Start of sales and price

The car of 2018 model went on sale in the markets of European countries in June 2017, the cost of the basic version amounted to 52 thousand dollars, the maximum will cost the buyer 57 or more thousand dollars.

In the territory of the Russian Federation, the car should appear in the fall of 2017, while the starting price has stopped at around 5 million rubles.
