Review of the new 2018 Infiniti Q50 sample

Infiniti is a Japanese automotive company owned by the renowned Nissan concern. In fact, it turns out that the specificity of the company is the production of Nissan cars in luxurious and expensive versions. The first car went off the assembly line in 1995, it was the Infiniti Q45.

For the first time, the Q50 sedan was presented to the public at the Geneva exhibition in 2013, but auto production had to wait a bit (until 2016). Now it’s known for sure that next year the updated sedan of the model of 2018 will go on sale, which has a number of advantages and positive qualities.

The previous update of the model was carried out in 2016, which immediately increased the growth of car sales in Europe and the world as a whole. Now, the concern is set up to again increase sales volumes, thanks to the updated design of the car and its distinctive qualities that they can conquer.

This model takes a third of the total sales of this brand, so the Q50 is given a special role, and it stands on a special account with Japanese manufacturers. That is why in the spring of 2017 in Geneva a new version of the car was introduced - the 2018 Infiniti Q50.

Sedan Exterior

Almost all external changes and modifications to the car were aimed at giving a sporty look and aggressiveness. For this, a modified radiator grille was installed, a two-section type. The grill got a fine-mesh structure, due to which the car turned out to be more expressive and aggressive, and the chrome trim adds expressiveness to the front of the car. The hood has several ribs that harmoniously merge with the pointed corners of the car.

The bumper also became more massive, took on sharp shapes and a large, wide air intake. Headlights have a narrow shape with special technology, which allows you to create the appearance of the human eye, not the headlights. This form is in harmony with the front wings and the "fog" that are located at the corners of the front of the car.

At the rear of the car, the bumper has also been changed; special narrow lights are integrated into it, which are connected by a chrome horizontal strip. Two exhaust pipes and a rear diffuser, which is made in two colors, add originality to the appearance. The side mirrors received a two-color design, as well as a special aerodynamic shape with integrated turn signals.

Due to changes in the exterior of the car, the company was able to achieve good aerodynamic performance and amazing handling at high speeds.

Interior

Internal changes are aimed at improving comfort and increasing a sporty look. The new version of the sedan has a lot more leather, it is present even on the front panel of the instruments, on the gear knob and in the seat upholstery. Wood planks and inserts are a thing of the past, they have been successfully replaced by chrome and polished aluminum. A more expensive car equipment will receive a special red thread line, which will emphasize the sporty style of the seat upholstery, as well as add some elegance.

The center console received two large monitors of 7 and 8 inches. The upper display will control the navigation, audio system and other useful multimedia functions of the car. The bottom screen is for displaying vehicle technical data.

The steering wheel received a multifunctional three-spoke design, as well as special protrusions for convenient positioning of the thumbs. The instrument panel is equipped with two familiar scales and an on-board computer screen, which is located in the middle.

The updated sedan has the following dimensions:

• width - 1820 mm;
• height - 1450 mm;
• ground clearance - 126 mm;
• tank volume - 80 l;
• trunk volume - 510 liters.

Specifications

The car received three engine options:

• turbocharged gasoline ICE, volume 2 liters, power 211 hp.;
• three-liter gasoline with double turbocharging and a capacity of 405 "horses";
• diesel, volume - 2.2 liters with direct fuel injection, engine power is 168 horsepower.

The transmission involves a special 7-band automatic transmission, however, it will be possible to change gears manually. The rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions are assumed. Four-wheel drive will be equipped with an internal combustion engine with the most powerful parameters.

Start of sales and cost

Sales of the updated version of the luxury sedan started in 2017, and already in the summer of 2017 started in the Russian Federation. In Russia, the manufacturer introduced only gasoline versions, diesel did not enter the domestic markets and remained inaccessible.

The initial price for the new 2018-2019 Infiniti Q50 is 1.8 million rubles for the basic package. If you choose additional options, then you will have to pay more. The price of the maximum configuration is closer to 3 million rubles.
