Fifth generation 2018 Seat Ibiza

The Seat Ibiza is a subcompact hatchback that has been sold in the automotive market since 1984. Then it was developed and put into production by an independent Spanish company. After 7 years, the concern became part of the German Volkswagen brand, but the line nevertheless was able to stay on the assembly line.

At the moment, the 4th generation of the model is relevant, the release of which was launched almost 10 years ago, namely in 2008. In 2012, FL (face lifting) was released with an updated exterior design. The latest version of the famous hatchback was very popular and successful. This fact can confirm a number of awards received:

• The most environmentally friendly car of 2008;
• car of 2009 in a number of countries (Germany, Portugal, Holland and Spain);
• the most reliable car among the VW Group in 2010;
• The best urban compact car for safety - 2010.

Given the fact that the car has not been updated for a long time, and its popularity in the automotive market has fallen, the concern made a decision and announced that it was preparing the release of the 5th generation of the 2018 model car.

Exterior

The exterior design of the car is characterized by sharp and geometrically interesting shapes. First of all, this applies to the body, which received many ribs, faces and bulges with the correct geometric shape. Thanks to this, the exterior of the car has harmony, as well as the original look of the sports direction.

From the front, the small design of sharp corners looks original, namely the radiator grille, which got the shape of a trapezoid. Immediately below it is a huge air intake, which is integrated into the bumper. The bumper is quite muscular and massive, "foglights" are installed on its sides, which also have the shape of a trapezoid. Headlights, as is now customary, have a narrower appearance, and the running lights are in the shape of an LED triangle.

The profile of the car emphasizes the dynamic image of the car, the convex wheel arches emphasize sportiness, it is worth noting that the novelty received stylish 18-inch wheels. Also, it is impossible not to note the special aerodynamic rear-view mirrors of a dark color, as well as a special stamping line at the bottom of the car.

At the rear, the car received a multi-level performance with a muscular bumper and a small spoiler over the glass of the tailgate. The taillights also have a trapezoidal shape and are located both on the trunk and on the side wings of the novelty. A special dark body kit is installed under the rear bumper, in which two exhaust pipe diffusers are integrated, which received a chrome trim.

Interior

Inside, the concern adhered to a strict and seasoned style, but at the same time with pronounced practicality and good ergonomics. The cabin is dominated by expensive fabrics and soft plastic, which are characterized by a perfect fit for each other.

The center console received a small angle of rotation relative to the driver. On it you can find a large monitor of the multimedia complex, immediately above it the deflectors of the climate system. Below the keys and switches are harmoniously located to control the car's systems.

The front panel is executed in a classic style, contains two familiar scales and an on-board computer screen. The steering wheel is a three-spoke, multifunctional, the lower part received an asymmetric cut.

Dimensions 2018 Seat Ibiza

Novelty has increased dimensions compared to its predecessor. Now the hatchback has the following parameters:

• length - 4050 mm;
• height - 1440 mm;
• width - 1780 mm;
• wheelbase - 2560 mm;
• the distance between the front wheels is 1530 mm, which is 20 millimeters more than between the rear wheels (1510 mm);
• ground clearance - 150 mm.

Based on the foregoing, it is worth noting that the wheelbase has increased by 95 mm, and the total width of the car has increased by 87 cm. Such modifications have allowed to increase the space in the cabin, which means that overall comfort has also increased. In addition, the change in dimensions affected the size of the trunk, which is now equal to 356 liters, instead of 291 liters, as it was before.

Technical specifications

The new version of the car in 2018 will be available only in the form of a 5-door hatchback. All planned power units will be turbocharged and represent the following options:

• one-liter gasoline engines with 95 and 115 horsepower;
• 1.5 liter gasoline ICE with a capacity of 150 “horses”;
• diesel engines, a volume of 1.6 liters, and power 80, 95 and 115 hp

Transmission:

• 5 and 6 speed mechanics;
• 7-band robot.

Start of sales and the cost of new items

Initially, the car will be produced only at a car factory located in Spain. The novelty of the sample of 2018 went on sale in the summer of 2017, and the cost of the car starts from 12.5 thousand euros.

The fourth generation of the famous small car was not officially available on the territory of the Russian Federation and was not sold anywhere. In this regard, it remains a mystery whether this car will be sold in Russia, the VW Group does not provide any information so far, which means it remains only to hope.
