How to make the symbol of 2018 with your own hands?

Christmas tree toy made of felt

The symbol of the year does not have to be big. A great option would be a small dog, which you can decorate the holiday tree or use as a keychain.

We will prepare such materials:

• felt gray and white;
• dog pattern;
• thread of gray, white and black;
• needle;
• 2 black beads;
• filler;
• lace.

We apply the dog template to the gray felt and cut out two elements in a mirror image. From white felt we cut out two details in the form of spots on the breast and muzzle.

Sew on beads, as well as specks with white thread. Black thread embroider the mouth and nose on the face.

We embroider the contours of the front legs with a black thread. Cut off part of the lace and tie the ends to knots.

We sew the two parts of the dog in such a way as to fix the lace. We leave space below to fill the toy with filler.

Sew the whole toy. If desired, you can decorate it with a bow.

Pompom dog

We will need:

• yarn of different colors;
• shreds of felt;
• large size beads;
• glue;
• scissors.

First, make two pompons of the same size and color. From yarn of a different color we make a smaller pompom.

If necessary, trim each pompom so that they are even and look neat.

We take one large pompom and glue a small one to it. This will be the head of the dog.

Eyes and a nose can be made of yarn or just glue beads, buttons.

Carefully connect the two pompons with each other.

Cut the ears out of felt and glue them to the dog’s head.

Give the ears the desired shape and decorate the dog with a beautiful collar.

Yellow dog

• yellow felt;
• scissors;
• paper;
• yellow thread;
• rhinestones or beads;
• needle;
• a piece of chalk;
• suspension;
• filler;
• glue;
• braid.

To begin, print a stencil of parts.

Carefully transfer the contours of the parts with chalk on felt and cut them out.

Sew a part with a stomach seam to the body with the stomach and legs, as shown in the photo.

We leave literally 5 mm not sewn at the beginning and at the end of the seam.

Sew the second part of the body to the legs in mirror image.

Sew two parts in the abdomen.

If everything is done correctly, then from below the blank will look like in the photo.

Starting from the stomach, we sew the chest and head of the toy.

In the middle of the upper part of the head we stop to add the last detail.

We apply it to the head with the short part. The sides will be the inside of the ears, and the longest part is the neck.

Sew this part along each contour to each side.

Everything should look like in the photo.

Through the remaining non-sewn hole, we stuff the toy tightly with the filler and distribute it evenly.

Sew the toy and straighten it so that the dog is in the correct shape.

Glue rhinestones or beads in the form of eyes to the toy.

From a small piece of braid we make a dog collar and complement it with a suitable suspension. Sew or glue the last part to the toy.

If desired, you can make such toys in different colors and present to loved ones as a small presentation. Believe me, they will definitely appreciate your efforts.

Playful dogs

Absolutely everyone can make a charming toy from textiles. You do not need to have special skills for this, because this master class was created specifically for beginners.

Such materials will be needed:

• calico white;
• patterns;
• filler;
• vanillin;
• instant coffee;
• paper napkins;
• PVA glue;
• needle;
• a thread;
• acrylic paints;
• brush.

First, look for a suitable picture and print it. Then we transfer to calico in two copies and carefully cut it out.

We sew the parts together and leave a small hole. We turn the workpiece out and fill it with filler. Instead, you can use plain cotton wool. Ears of a dachshund, unlike a body, do not stuff too densely.

Sew ears to the dachshund blank.

We brew coffee in a small amount of water and leave to cool slightly. Then add a little bit of vanillin and one tablespoon of PVA. Gently paint the toys with liquid. We remove the remains with a paper towel.

Preheat the oven at 75˚ and place the blanks as shown in the photo. Leave them no more than 10 minutes. If desired, you can dry them with a hairdryer.

In the remaining coffee mixture, add a little brown acrylic. We draw spots on the blanks.

Again, dry the toys and draw the rest of the details with acrylic paints. Leave them until completely dry. Cute toys for the New Year 2018 are ready!

Dog magnet

Such a small souvenir will be a great gift for the upcoming holidays.

Necessary materials:

• magnet;
• black and white felt;
• glue;
• adhesive for felt;
• thick cardboard;
• black threads;
• three beads;
• black pen;
• pencil;
• scissors;
• soap;
• needle;
• scalpel or cutter.

To get started, print a picture of a dog of your favorite breed or draw it yourself in two copies. We cut one of them into parts, as shown in the photo.

We transfer the contour to black felt and cut out two identical parts.

On light felt we transfer the contours of the second paper blank. Carefully cut out each of the parts.

The result should be such blanks.

Glue white elements to the black part.

Sew eyes and nose to the blank. For greater realism, you can make small incisions with a scalpel at the location of the eyes. Sew beads to small pieces of felt. Only after that we glue the eyes and press them.

Black threads embroider the muzzle. Glue white felt eyebrows.

On a thick cardboard we draw a silhouette of a dog. This is necessary in order to make the frame.

Glue the frame to the second part in black.

We glue together two parts.

On the back of the dog we attach a magnet.

The magnet in the form of a dog is ready!
