In our review, we will try to answer all these questions and tell you about the very first films in the world.

The story of the very first film

In 1888, when the cinema had not yet declared its existence as an art, the Frenchman Louis Le Prince made the first film. The film, entitled “Roundhead Garden Scenes,” was only a few seconds long. The main characters of this film were members of the director’s family and his friend, who simply walked around the garden. When creating the first film, Louis Le Prince used the latest technology for that time. He recorded on a film of paper with photo emulsion coating. According to historical data, this director created another film, but it never came out, as its creator disappeared without a trace. Until today, none of the versions of his mysterious disappearance has been confirmed.

The officially recognized first film in the world

The official year of the creation of world cinema is considered to be 1895. The short film "Arrival of the Train at La Ciotat Station" was presented in France and became widespread. The creators of the first movie were the Lumiere brothers. The duration of this picture is only 49 seconds, and from the point of view of the modern viewer, it was not a remarkable or significant plot. Only a moving train and people passing by were shown on the screen. But for the audience of that era, any movement on the screen was a real miracle. The film of the Lumiere brothers was first shown on the wide screen of 1896 on January 6. Subsequently, many directors began to shoot a similar movie at other stations.

The first voiced movie in the world

The main role in this film was played by jazz singer Al Johnson.

The first color image in the cinema

As a result of the great work of British historians, it was found that the world's first frames in color were shot in 1901-1902. The picture was called "Journey to the Moon" by French director Georges Méliès. He achieved the color effect by superimposing on each other three multi-colored films (blue, red and green). Officially, the full-length color film is considered to be the film “Victims of the Sea”. The picture came out on a wide screen in 1922 and was a huge success with the audience.

The year the pictures were released on the screen in 1914, where Charlie Chaplin starred. In the same year, two more comedy films with the participation of Ch. Chaplin were released. Funny and at the same time naive films with the participation of this famous actor are still considered the world classics of the comedy genre.

Erotic movie: how it all began

A year after the release of the first cinema film in 1896, a very popular and sought-after genre of the film industry appeared - erotic cinema. The first film of this piquant genre was released in France under the name "Pastel for Maria". The director of this seven-minute silent picture is Albert Kirchner. Only three and a half minutes have come to our days from the full version of the film.
